The first and last images of this set were taken while aboard a ship sailing the Agean between southern Italy and Patras, Greece. The majority of the images are of Athens, both the birthplace of Western Civilization and a massive, dynamic and cosmopolitan modern city. Amazingly, the historical and modern manage to coexist side-by-side. Images of Athens include the New Acropolis museum, which opened in June, 2009, the Acropolis, the ancient Agora, and lycabettus hill, from where the panoramas were taken.
Details of the panoramas below can be seen by clicking on them to see a larger image.
